Shopping – Prime Wardrobe

Third time is a charm, right? Well, not in this case. Regrettably, this will most likely be my last Prime Wardrobe post. Frankly, I cannot believe I am breaking up with a part of Amazon but it’s definitely them and not me.

Truthfully, I have had some success with Prime Wardrobe but the cost of the items and the lack of personalization makes me feel like I might as well just do this on my own –why do I pay a stylist fee if the selections look completely arbitrary? I was really underwhelmed with this last order even though the items looked decent online AND I had my box completely redone because the original selections were all flops.

Amazon did extend me an offer that credits me the stylist fees up to 3 times, which seemed like a great plan and I really appreciated it. But alas, this box was nothing to write home about so it is not easy to get excited for another month.

So without further ado, here is this month’s Prime selections…

Okay, I cheated this time because I was not a fan of the outfits once I received them so I did combine some of them but nevertheless, I’ll break down each item.

Tahari ASL – Women’s Inverted Midi Pleat Skirt (in Black Ivory Dot) – $24.99
This skirt has pockets! It is very elegant and had an underslip so it was very professional. I just did not like the waist or where it fell on me. I have an hourglass-esque figure and I have been noticing that even when I one-up the size, some skirts or pants just sit way too high so it cuts my torso making me look shorter. I received this in a size 8 and a size 10 would be too big so alas it was returned.

Nine West – Women’s Stretch Kiss Front Jacket (in Cyprus) – Price currently unavailable
This was a great little jacket for work that I could through on top of a camisole (like I did in both pictures) or a blouse. It was large enough and had some stretch so it would be comfortable for the workday. There was no way to close the jacket and the pockets are fake. The sleeves have slits so you can fold them up for a bracelet length or let them down for full-length sleeves. For me, the biggest turnoff was the color. I have olive skin overall that with purples or olive colors, I tend to look yellow. Unfortunately, this was too olive so I had to return it.

Nine West – Women’s Stripe Midi Dress with Self Sash (in Fireg Low/Candy Multi) – $63.31
While this looked great online, this does not look great in person. It has a slip underneath that has zero give so if you have curves, it fits like a sausage casing. I felt so constricted and uncomfortable. The bust area also stretched so it looked like it was too small for me but any bigger would be too loose. Also, the length isn’t right for me as it cuts my legs in a weird spot. Overall I wanted to like this dress for a vacation or weekend, but it was not a winner.

Donna Morgan – Women’s Split Sleeve Fit and Flare Dress (in Tea Rose) – $96.05
Okay so the color was great and it is a totally comfortable dress. There are no pockets and it is a back-zip closure. But my goodness – where is the flare? The model makes this look loose yet totally work appropriate. I, on the other hand, could not get this to look good. Maybe if I added Spanx? Meh. Another return.

Nine West – Women’s Bi Stretch Trouser Pant (in Biscotti) $61.8
Can you tell that I have sizing issues with clothing? So these pants that, when you look on Amazon, are supposed to be loser fitting than what I ended up trying on. These pants were way too tight in the thighs to be work appropriate. They had false pockets too which I don’t understand why women can’t have pants with pockets… The color is quite nice and would’ve been great for fall transition. Alas, these were all returned.

Moral of the story? My Amazon Prime Wardrobe account has been paused. I am unfortunately not very happy with what I have been sent and feel that there are other companies, like StichFix, that are listening to the survey you complete, the notes you enter, and know the clothes they send. I do not foresee myself doing another box with Prime Wardrobe but I will still purchase selective one-off clothing items from Amazon!

And on a complete side note…I need a vacation and some sun! Sheesh.

So inquiring minds want to know… Do you have a Prime Wardrobe subscription? Do you have any clothing subscriptions? What is your favorite clothing line?

Shopping – Amazon Prime Wardrobe

So the results are in for the second box from Amazon! Keep in mind that my first box (posted about here) did not go so well even though I was able to review the items before they shipped! Nothing had fit properly and the pictures versus the actual items were not quite the same. So box 1 was a flop but I had high hopes for box 2.

Now of these items, and I think you can see it on my face or in my posture, some were MAJOR flops while others were a success! Let’s break it down by each article of clothing and I will include the link below to the item along with the Amazon photo.

Nanette Nanette Lepore Women’s Ankle Slim Leg Pants (Colonel Mustard) – Retail: $72.45, Prime Wardrobe: $66.67
These pants were an adorable color for fall! I was so excited to get these because I am always looking for great office attire that is in trend with the season. But when I put these on… Yikes. These did not fit me, even though I ordered up a size (normally size 6, ordered size 8) because they are “slim” and I wanted a little extra room. If you look at the stock photo on Amazon (found here), the pants appear to fit a little loose. Yet in reality, they did not. They also did not have any give to them so it showed way too tight around my backside. The length was cute and was surprisingly still ankle length even on me (I almost always have to buy “long” so they fit regularly). I paired this with a plain black t-shirt from Kohl’s and black sandals from Payless (le sigh).
Final answer: Returned.

Nine West Women’s Sleeveless Blouse (Tangerine) – Retail: $Currently Unavailable, Prime Wardrobe: $49.28
This blouse is another color favorite! I was so surprised at how bright it was without being full neon. Pairing with a pair of plain black slacks from Chico’s, I thought the blouse was cute but it did not do me any favors. It did zip up in the back and was a stretchy material. However, the peplum cut just did not fall in the right places. It was short and if I bent over or raised my arms, my midriff would definitely be exposed. Also, it had a weird seam that from the front, made me look busty but from the side, I looked like I reverted back to my teenage years. You can find the Amazon product here.
Final answer: Returned.

Sharagano Women’s Pleated Maxi Dress (Yellow) – Retail: $54.99, Prime Wardrobe: $66.85
This maxi dress (found here on Amazon) is definitely office-appropriate attire while still being elegant. It is very flowy and the pleats give it a very polished look. It zips in the back and has a fabric tie to help cinch the waist. It has a high neckline so you can always dress it up with your favorite draped necklace. It had a liner on the inside so the see-through material was not as see-through, though you would definitely have to wear nude undergarments. Just the right length for heels, and could easily transition to a summer wedding or date night. But I didn’t feel comfortable. The pleats in the bust area were stretched (and I am by no means busty) and it looked like I was a little stuffed – though I wasn’t…in fact I had room! I really wanted to like this dress!
Final answer: Returned.

Calvin Klein Women’s Sleeveless Midi with Asymmetric Hem Dress (Hibiscus Multi) – Retail: $120.27, Prime Wardrobe: $46.42
Pink? Seriously? I am not a fan of pink – in fact, I avoid it like the plague. So right off the bat, I was not a fan of this dress (found on Amazon here), but I figured what the heck – let me get out of my comfort zone. It is a zip closure, with an eyelet hook. The dress is an A-line cut with an asymmetric bottom, though it is hard to see it once the dress is on. Made of polyester and spandex, this is not the most breathable dress but it does have a lot of give, making it one of the more forgiving cuts. There is black & orange color blocking that breaks up the very bright pink.
Final answer: Purchased!

Of the four items above, I cannot believe that the pink dress was the keeper! And in fact, I just wore it for a large presentation this past week and felt super comfortable and elegant – which is particularly great when you have to get ready in less than an hour and you’re awake with the sun! I even received a couple of compliments from my peers!

So am I going to go for box 3? Yes. I will give it another try because scientifically speaking, 1 out of 2 is not statistically significant… Okay. Okay. But seriously, I am going to give Prime Wardrobe one more try before deciding to keep this going to help refresh my closet or end it for a different approach.

With Amazon Prime Wardrobe, I do get to see the items selected for me beforehand and can make some swaps. I also get one week to try the clothes on in the comfort of my own home before I have to ship some, or all, of the clothing back. Shipping is indeed free in both directions and Amazon gives you the return label outright so you don’t have to worry about printing and all that. Also, there is a small “styling charge” that is not applied to your order afterwards – the charge is $4.99 and is non-refundable even if you don’t purchase anything.

As a side note, I have also subscribed to StichFix to see about this subscription service. This is a bit more pricey than Amazon Wardrobe but I wanted to present options! I will post an update as soon as I get my first box – especially since I have no idea what to expect!!

So inquiring minds want to know… Have you tried a clothing subscription service? Which one? Did you like it or did you revert back to standard shopping? If you haven’t tried these services, what is your biggest hesitation?

Prime Wardrobe – Yay or Nay?

Back in July, I mentioned how I was giving Prime Wardrobe a try. For those of you that do not know what Prime Wardrobe is, it is very similar to these wardrobe subscription boxes that you see through IG or FB, except obviously through Amazon. This is great for those of us that, like me, hate to go shopping but obviously need clothes every now again – you get to try these on before committing to the purchase to make sure it fits and is truly your style!

That has always been a fear of mine when it came to online shopping, if I may be completely honest. The models that are used are just that models so how do I know it is going to look just as good on me as it does on them? Then there is the dreaded computer screen & color – what you see online may not actually be what the product looks like in real life so what if that blue-ish is really purple? Or what if that medium really needs to be a small? I really hate to go shopping in the store for clothes, but I often find myself having to suck it up and go because shopping online for someone with curves is not easy – sometimes the same size in the same brand won’t fit the same! So I wanted to give this Amazon Prime Wardrobe a try and see if it would be a success or not.

You get about 5 items to pick from and a 7-day try on window after your box arrives. That is actually fantastic because we all know that there are some days we are more bloated or sluggish than the next so what fits great today may not fit tomorrow. Also, this is all risk-free so you can return parts or ALL of the items without a charge in the return package that Amazon sends you. Plus, you get to see the box before it ships so if there is one item that is definitely not up your alley, you can swap it out for something else!

I was able to try my first box for free and received quite a few items that my personal shopper selected for me based off of a few questions that I answered. Below are the results of that box…

As you can see, I did return all of these items as they did not fit me well when I tried them on or just didn’t say anything! For example, the Adrianna Papell dress was way too form fitting for my comfort zone to wear to work even though I purchased a larger than normal size. The blouses were fairly standard but the Nine West blouse looked way more purple in person than on the model so when I tried it on, I was washed out and yellow. So overall this box was a “nay” but I haven’t given up all hope…

Recently Amazon has revamped their Amazon Wardrobe where now you have to spend $4.99 for a stylist fee but the types of questions that are asked are FAR better than before which can help your stylist find pieces that are more appropriate for your taste and budget.

I am giving it a try again this month and will share the results with you once I receive my box and will even do a little look book! So stay tuned!

Amazon Favorites – July

It’s the second half of the year and we are turning the corner on holiday shopping!! I know, you did not want to be reminded of that when the temperatures are nearing 100 and the sun doesn’t set till almost 8pm, but it’s true…

In fact, I have already started my savings account for holiday shopping. Using Digit (which I posted about here), I have started a bucket of funds for the holidays specifically so I know how much I can spend and am not hit with a large bill in December/January! I have also started to write my list AND buy some off-season items so I am ahead of the game.

One of the great things about Amazon and the month of July is the famous (or infamous) Amazon Prime Day which became Prime Days this year. It allowed us to buy a couple of the off items that we have been eyeing for ourselves or the house and not spend as much as we normally do. Plus we started our Amazon Gift Card which automatically renews monthly (giving us our spending limit) and adds an additional 2% if you link your checking account.

So with all of that, lets dive into July’s Amazon haul!

Disclaimer: Please note that these photos are the stock photo from Amazon; they are not mine. Also all links are affiliate and if you purchase the item through my link, I do receive a small profit but it does not change the price or experience for you!

After doing some research on shower puffs, or poofs or loofas or whatever you call them, it was apparent that the bacteria that was festering was too much for me! So I wanted a better alternative. I tried hand towels but that just felt awkward, didn’t provide a good lather, and ultimately would be only a slight improvement to the loofah unless you washed it every time you used it. Then I tried just the bar of soap but that was ill-fated. So I found this silicone loofah on Amazon and because of its material, it does not harbor bacterial growth the way that the loofahs do as it rinses clean every time and is not as permeable. I have to say that after using it for almost a month now, I will NOT go back and have already bought one for my mom and husband! It allows the soap to lather well, rinses completely clean, and is soft enough for all areas of the body. The reverse side has harder, exfoliating heads so you can scrub a little better on your arms, legs, what have you. For only $8.99, I think that this silicone loofah is amazing!!

So maybe this is TMI, but since we all go #2, having one of these in the home is so helpful -especially if you share a bathroom with someone! I bought this as a part of the Amazon Prime Day sales. I had tried this in the past but stopped buy them because my husband and I wanted a less floral scent than the original ones. So we tried this one and loved it so much, we signed up for the subscribe and save! We want to have one in each bathroom we, as well as guests, can have their own bottle! It normally is around $10-$12 per individual bottle.

Another item from the Prime Day deals is this back-up battery from Anker. With having so many technological gadgets running on battery and traveling so much, having an extra battery is fundamental. However so many models are big, heavy, and cumbersome to try and cram into a bag with the power cords and adapters. This model is very slim and compact but carries a big charge! It charges quickly and works on Android as well as Apple products – in fact it can charge my iPhone 2x on one charge! It even comes with a carrying bag so it doesn’t get scuffed up and it’s silicone exterior won’t scuff your phone! This is currently $35 dollars but the price has fluctuated. Click here to purchase yours!

I have been wanting to get over-the-ear headphones for over a year now but could not bring myself to shell out hundreds of dollars! So I purchased off-brand headphones that went in your ear for the gym and traveling but it would get annoying especially on a long flight. So when I saw these for 1/2 the price on Amazon during Prime Day, I bought TWO – one for myself and one for my husband. I figured that if they didn’t work, I could return them but if they did, it would be a steal. And thankfully it was! These have a 30+ hour playtime, are noise-canceling, and are super comfortable! I even fell asleep with these on! They are bluetooth but also come with a connection cord if you are on a plane, for example. They are made by COWIN and come in so many great colors! You can use them to listen to music, talk, or just to drown out the surrounding noise. These are the E7 model, which has been recently upgraded, but I honestly don’t need anything other than these! They are great! They are currently $59.99 with a $10 coupon!!

So many of you know that I no longer drink regular dairy milk anymore and have switched almost exclusively to almond milk. While it is delicious, one of the draw backs is that I cannot get those gourmet lattes at home as good as those purchased at those fancy coffee shops (you know who I am talking about). Almond milk just doesn’t foam/froth as well as regular milk so my coffees were always standard and my matcha lattes never had that little extra “oomph”. So when I saw this on sale, I figured it was worth the $10 to try it and worst case, I could save it for the holidays when I make hot cocoa with regular milk for my family or when my husband wants to make coquito – Puerto Rican egg nog (more on that during the holidays). With two AA batteries, I washed this and gave it a go… The results are amazing!!!!!! And clean-up is a breeze. It comes with a stand to prevent damage to the device as well which makes for a nice little display. It also works with eggs and powdered supplements! I can froth my almond milk for my morning coffee in less than 30 seconds!! I honestly don’t know why I didn’t try this sooner. This milk frother by Zulay is currently $14.99 with a $3.00 off coupon.

My husband and I have been working on making some important changes in our home – some of them including green cleaning products while others are healthier alternatives for those overly fragrant aerosols. So I decided to try one of the top rated Amazon diffusers with my doTERRA oils (more on this in a future post) to see if this could truly replace those candles or sprays. I actually took this one to my office to try it before buying one for the home especially since it is only $14.99 (currently with a $2.00 off coupon). This little diffuser is no bigger than the iPhone X but it packs quite the punch! It does light up if you want it to too and can either change colors or stay one color depending on your preference – I personally don’t use the light option in my office. It also has the option for intermittent diffusing -30 seconds on, 30 off or continuous. It has a large enough reservoir that I can have it running for an 8-hour day and I still have some leftover. It evenly dispersing my essential oils and leaves my space fresh and with a hint of cool mist which is essential when living in a very dry climate! I highly recommend the InnoGear diffuser for bedrooms or smaller rooms in your home as it is whisper quiet and has an auto-off feature so when it runs out of water, it turns off! You really should try the Ultrasonic Diffuser!

So I didn’t go completely overboard in July but I definitely purchased more than I had anticipated! These have all been great additions to the home and were items that I was already waiting to buy any way so I did not overly indulge in my splurge Amazon shopping. And of course with Prime these all came in 24 or 48 hours which far beats many other retailers for only shopping!

Have you tried any of these items? What are your thoughts? Anything that you want me to purchase and review for you? Comment below!

Amazon Favorites – June

Wait a second…it is already the second half of the year?! I swear that when I was a kid, in school, 180 days took FOREVER to come and go but now that I am an adult, I blink and it is already a year later. I cannot believe it is less than 150 days left till December 1st!

Okay, so since it is July, it is time for the monthly Amazon favorites for the month of June. Starting next month, this series will include non-Amazon favorites too and I’ll try to link them or find the closest match!

Disclaimer: Please note that these photos are the stock photo from Amazon; they are not mine. Also all links are affiliate and if you purchase the item through my link, I do receive a small profit but it does not change the price or experience for you!

Now on to the favorites!

I want to start off with a new skin tool that I have started to use in the past couple of weeks and will be posting about it in detail after using it for a month. This item, to date, has been showing me a lot of results on clearing my skin from discoloration, redness, sub-dermal breakouts, and overall texture. It is not for the faint of heart as it does cause breaking of the skin, but my derma roller has been great! It comes in sanitary packaging and does require you to clean it with rubbing alcohol before and after use, but it has helped my skin turnover faster, sloughing off dead skin cells and generating collagen. I highly recommend this derma roller to anyone that is starting out. It is only $19.99 and currently has a $2 off coupon through Amazon, plus it is prime!

So I finally did it. I broke my pizza cutter after making homemade, vegetarian pizza almost every week. So I scoured the depths of Amazon to find this cutter wheel and it has been amazing thus far! It easily packs up so you do not cut yourself when searching through your utensils and doesn’t require the strength of the Hulk to cut! It also comes apart completely so you can get a deep clean. It is only $10.99 and comes in three different colors – blue, green, and red.

There is nothing like fresh coffee in the morning. In fact, if I did not have my morning cups (yep, cups as in 2), the world is not safe! But what is even better is freshly grounded coffee that is even more rich and robust. Recently on a Costco trip, we purchased local coffee that was roasted but whole bean. Instead of grinding it at Costco for free, we got a small but highly effective grinder that grinds the perfect amount for one carafe worth of coffee so there isn’t excess that loses its flavor. This grinder only costs $19/97 AND there is currently a 5% off coupon. It can also be used to grind spices if you are so inclined and cleans up easily! It is a little noisy but only takes a few seconds to grind it all the way so it isn’t too obtrusive.

If you get the occasional breakout, especially if you are a woman around that time of the month, then this product will be a life saver for you too! I bought this 24 pack of acne patches that are spot treatments for overnight use. They are a little thick but once you put it on, you can barely see anything at all. They work through various oils including tea tree, calendula and rosehip to pull out the bacteria and dirt and reduce the breakout! Because it is a hydrocolloid patch, it works without over drying your skin and easily peels off int he morning. And even I, a completely wild sleeper, have not taken one off during the night so I know it’ll work for you too! It is only $7.50 for 24 patches and comes in a resealable package so you do not have to use them all at once! There is also an AM version that is thinner and even more discreet if you need to wear a patch during the day.

Even if you shop organic, you should ALWAYS wash your fruits and vegetables. Between packing, shipping, and shelving, even the most green products can interact with chemicals and dirt which could have harmful reactions. This is part of the reason why I never eat a grape out of the bag and always wash my produce with white vinegar and water even IF the packaging says it has been washed. So to help with some of those harder produce items like potatoes, peaches, apples, and so on, I have this vegetable brush. It is soft enough that it doesn’t damage the item but strong enough that with a little soap, it really cleans up the produce. And for $5.99, I make sure to replace this every 3 months to prevent bacterial build-up. It is ergonomic too so it fits nicely in any hand size.

In keeping up with keeping everything clean, I recently re-purchased bottle cleaning brushes for all of those odd shaped bottles we now use. For example, our Ninja coffee carafe cannot easily be cleaned with a sponge nor can our 40oz water bottles we use for the gym. So we purchased this brush set, for only $11.98 (plus a current coupon for $2.00 off), really helps clean even the smallest crevice in the weirdest shaped bottle. We also replace these every few months, but they really last even with our daily use and our hard water! I would really recommend purchasing this set if you have any of those reusable straws or oblong bottles!

Last but not least for June is another re-purchase and another skin care item! Some of you know that being Armenian means that well, being hairy is common! But that doesn’t mean that I have to like it. I use these facial razors for derma-planing or facial shaving. No, this is not like my husband’s razor and NO the hair does not grow back thicker or darker. In fact, the hair has been growing back less frequently and in smaller patches. I will do a video on how I derma-plane but this set is only $4.80 for 6 and since I throw these out monthly so as to not incur a build-up of bacteria, it is a great deal.

I have also recently subscribed to Amazon’s new Prime Wardrobe program and will be doing a test of the items they have sent and how on point my stylist was with my wishes. Stay tuned for an update next week!

Have you tried any of these products or will you be?? If you would like to see any of these items in action, please let me know. I am working on creating my schedule for videos and want to know what you want to see! Also if there are any items you think I should give a try, comment below!

Amazon Favorites – May

Halfway through the month and I’m just posting about May’s favorites! Well…at least it is better than last month…

As always, I will link the item I am speaking about, or at least the closet item to it!

Disclaimer: The photos used are stock from Amazon. The links provided are monetized. I would receive a percentage if you purchased through my affiliate link. Please note that the price does not change from mainstream Amazon.

I have to start off with an amazing new addition to my curly regimen! When I got my hair cut recently at Maggie’s Salon in Davie, Florida, my stylist Chanel was using something similar and with some trips coming up soon, I knew I had to try this. For only $14.99, this collapsible diffuser helps me get my hair dried faster than air drying or with the DevaCurl hand diffuser (which is amazing for roots). Click here to order one for yourself!

If you know me, for the past couple of years I have used a wallet case for my iPhone. I loved the fact that I didn’t have to bring a purse with me but could go with just my phone. Yet I finally reverted back and broke out the purse, so I needed a new case. Cue in this gem. For only $13.99, this case has protected my phone and is so thin, you barely realize it is on! Even my husband got one!

In order to sleep soundly at night, I need two things – 1) a cold room but warm bed and 2) lavender. This plug in is amazing! The Mediterranean lavender is not as sweet as the regular scent but provides almost a musk like concoction. And for $12.97 for a one-time purchase, why have you not yet tried it? You will really enjoy this scent combo! Click here to try it.

Are you spending your money on organic produce when you grocery shop? Do you hate the amount of plastic you end up throwing away when you put all your items away? We really are becoming more conscientious of our produce and of the items we put into our body so when I thought about how much money I spent on organic items but then stuffed it into a plastic bag with chemicals and coloring, I realized how I was flushing my money down the toilet. I bought these and my goodness they are great and a LOT larger than you would expect. There is no extra charge and each comes with a tare tag so the cashier can balance out for the correct produce weight (no up-charge)! These can be washed too so I’m not afraid to use it for potatoes or other items! I definitely recommend purchasing at least one set for $13.99 (currently with a 5% discount coupon)!

Have you ever walked out of the house and realized you forgot a bunch of items or forgot what it was you needed to buy at the store even though you knew you weren’t going to forget? With a lot of chaos going on right now, I needed that little extra reminder and as much as I like technology, I prefer writing it down – trust me that it really works better for memory that way! I bought this for my front door which is metal so that I, or my husband, can leave little reminder notes. It has helped a lot especially when it comes to groceries that need to be picked up that day for a special recipe. It was only $13.99 and came with the pen set which does not leave behind residue. You can purchase one too for the fridge, locker, or front door!

This is my new beauty secret! For months I have gone back and forth, debating if I was going to get this, but after having a cryofacial and realizing my skin has been a little dramatic lately, I wanted to introduce something new. This quartz roller is lightweight but firm which also helps press in my oils to seep into my skin better. I use the stone (Guasha scraping tool) for nights and the roller (which I keep in the freezer) for mornings. The instant depuffing is great while helping promote collagen production! Bonus was the mask brush so there is less waste every time I get to sneak in a little me-time. For $17.99, it is one of the best I have found on Amazon for its price and effectiveness. I highly recommend at least trying the roller! You can click here to take a look!

So what have you tried lately or splurged on? Any questions about the items above? Want to see the roller in action? Comment below!

Amazon Favorites – April

So it is almost June and I am way behind! I had to take a couple of weeks off because of an illness (see last post for more details) but now that I’m back, I need to get on schedule!

Also, I will be rolling out two new series for my IG and blog! First will be my smoothie recipes and menu. I will post more about this during the week, but my smoothies are daily concoctions that I make for myself, my husband, and some of my friends and have seen amazing results! One of my friends has lost over 15 pounds with just the smoothies alone! The second series will be about skincare. I am not a makeup junkie, but I am all about taking care of my skin and my body. Every Sunday will now be Skincare Sunday and I will test and report on different skincare items; some may be first impressions, others may be tried and true.

But on to the Amazon favorites! I will link each product below, or the closest version if it is not currently available. Please please remember that Amazon prices are subject to change! Also, for the sake of transparency, each link is an affiliate link but it does not change the price or cost you anything.

This is one of my favorite investments for my small kitchen! If you know me, you know I love to cook, but sometimes cooking all weekend to meal prep is impossible and cooking every night is simply not going to happen. So purchasing this beauty (even though April’s purchase was a gift because I have 2 at home), has been a lifesaver. It has helped cut down on cooking time, keeps meats moist, and has made sure we eat out less because of “dump and cook” meals! I even make our doggie’s human-grade food every week and they have gotten so much HEALTHIER!
Click here for the 6 quart (currently $69)

Do you have curly hair or hair that tangles often? Have you been using a wide-tooth comb? Do you fear every time you have to detangle? Say no more! That was me too until I found this brush that I could have sworn was a gimmick until I detangled my curly hair – wet AND dry. This brush fits in the contours of your hand so it is easy to hold and with short/long bristles, it easily brushes out even the worst knots. And the best part is that it also massages the scalp without any damage. I barely have any fall out when I detangle too which is night and day from what I would be left with before.
Please do not hesitate and get this! Just keep an eye on the price because I got mine for $9.99 and it is now $16.

Once I started to hit the gym more for muscle building and not just weight loss, I needed something to help protect my neck and shoulders from the barbell and I came across this wonder! For only $12.49, I use this every time I do squats, pelvic thrusts, and any other exercise where the barbell is resting directly on my body. I keep this in my gym bag and clean it after every use. It provides a lot of cushion without disrupting the exercise.
It comes in multiple colors but I bought my black one here.

Available in multiple colors and sizes, I have bought this blanket 3 times over -once as a gift and twice for our master and guest beds. Every time someone stays over or we crash for the night during the summer months, this blanket is amazing! It is light weight but still warm enough that when the AC is blasting, you are not cold. It has a little waffle design on there so it is aesthetically pleasing while being functional. It is not warm enough for winter but we use it during spring, summer, and fall without any issues! It is great quality and washes easily in the washing machine and can be dried as well.
Each size and color is a different price, but I bought this one for the guest bed for $35.99.

Another item I have on Subscribe & Save is this collagen powder! This is a new addition to my daily protein smoothies that I make to help my bones, my skin, my hair, and joints. It is unflavored and will mix easily in any smoothie or shake. All you need is a scoop (included) and it makes a world of a difference. It is easy to digest too so there is no need to take 6 tablets or try and drink a flavored concoction. I purchase one every month.
You can give this a try too by purchasing it here.

Amazon Favorites – March

This has been a trend on YouTube and while I am still working on that adventure, I am not yet quite equipped to handle that road just yet. But it got me thinking that as an almost too avid Amazon shopper, I could make this a series for my blog! So at the beginning of the month, I will recap some of my top purchases from the prior month!

Ready to see where all my money goes?? I will link each product below with the price I paid (though please remember that Amazon prices are subject to change! Also, for the sake of transparency, each link is an affiliate link but it does not change the price or cost you anything.

First item is one of the biggest changes I have implemented to my workout routine.
I add this to my water bottle (1.5 scoops for my 40oz bottle) and it has helped me replenish my muscles to the point that I am able to go longer and harder without quitting! The science behind branched-chain amino acids (BCAA) has been increasing but I can contest that it does help.
Think of this as a Gatorade replacement but tastes a heck of a lot better and is better.
There are multiple flavors, but I am impartial to the mango and watermelon. The price changes but I bought it for $22.99.

This one is on auto-delivery!
If you ever had some trouble falling asleep, these little gummies pack quite a punch without the groggy feeling.
The primary ingredients are melatonin, L-Theanine and other botanicals like chamomile and lemon balm. These combined help me fall asleep calmly and stay asleep unlike many other melatonin-like products.
There is some sugar in these as they are gummies, but it is minimal and I always take them before I brush since they do take time to start working.
The “sleep” version only comes in one flavor but it is not overly powerful. I bought mine for $11.89.

One of my secret ingredients for my daily smoothie is this amazing powder!
Let’s be realistic…getting in all your fruits and vegetable servings is not easy. So I add one scoop of this to my smoothie, plus all the other good stuff (more to come on these) and I just got 3+ servings!
This is a bit pricey but worth it since you are adding only one small scoop and it is estimated for 60 servings. I paid $29.66 for this and it is now on auto-delivery. Or you can buy the smaller one (30 servings) for $14.95.

If you have never heard of dry-brushing (there will be a post on this shortly), you are certainly missing out!
Dry brushing has a number of benefits including improving blood circulation, shedding of dead skin, and in some cases, helping reduce the appearance of cellulite. I do this 2-3x per week while my skin is still dry and before I hop into the shower. And I have already noticed a difference on my legs and torso.
There are several varieties but I like that this one is a smaller size and the bristles are not too rough or too soft.
This product is relatively inexpensive; I bought mine for $9.95. You can click here to purchase yours.

Reducing our sugar intake has been a vital component in losing weight. While I personally do not consume a lot of artificial sugar, every morning I add 2 teaspoons of agave to my coffee until I realized how many calories I was drinking before my day even began!
So I had to find an alternative that was not sucralose, fructose, or another like variation. I wanted to be able to cook with it and it could not have an aftertaste (which is why stevia does not bode well with me). Which is how I found this amazing gem for $10.99.
This is a sugar alcohol with a 1:1 breakdown which means it passes through your system with minimal absorption and no aftertaste.
Those are doing keto or are diabetic can have this sweetener without a glycemic issue because it does not get absorbed.
It is now my coffee additive for 0 calories and I have even been able to cut down the sweetness to 1 teaspoon!

As a part of my skincare regimen, I always apply a toner after I wash and before I apply any serums or moisturizers. However I noticed that my witch hazel astringent was actually drying out my skin so no matter how much moisturizer I put, my skin was peeling within the hour!
So I sought out to find an alternative that did not cost a fortune but still provided benefits like skin clarification, control oil production, reduce the appearance of pores, and promote some collagen production. Hefty list for the prince range I wanted to stay in but low and behold the amazing Thayer’s alcohol-free toner!
I bought this for $6.99 and it works like a charm! It does not have an overpowering smell and does not try out my sensitive skin. It has helped actually tone my skin and even out some of the discoloration in a matter of a few weeks applied twice daily.

And there you have it! For the month of March, most of my expenses were to help me take the next step in my health journey but I am still testing the benefits of those items so they will hopefully be showcased in a future post!
